7Great location for daytime but...
Good: Overall, we really enjoyed out stay at the hotel. We liked our room and it had a wonderful balcony we sat on and watched people go by. It is close to a canal and we were able to walk to the Van Gogh museum. The location is excellent during the day but not at night.
Bad: While the location is great during the day it is extremely loud at night. There were loud bars and people were out all night long so if you plan to stay bring earplugs. The rooms closer to the canal may be less noisy but it is a pretty bustling place day and night.

Good: The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was beautiful. The hotel is over 120 years old. It was originally built in 1902 and is housed in a historic building. The building is a prime example of Art Nouveau architecture,
Bad: With the very small rooms. The building is a prime example of Art Nouveau architecture.
It's centrally located in Amsterdam, on the edge of Leidseplein, a major square so it's noisy. The noise level from outside made it hard to sleep. We don't recommend this hotel for families. Rooms size for 1 or 2 people.

10An amazing hotel in a...
Good: Very grand hotel with great facilities and friendly staff in a great location. The room was spacious and had everything we needed. We had read some reviews that said it was a noisy location but we enjoyed the hustle and bustle of a clean and tidy location in the heart of Amsterdam. The noise certainly didn’t keep us awake. The staff were all extremely friendly and attentive too.
